Commitment vs. contribution　賣命還是貢獻傻傻分不清？

一則英國笑話回答這個問題：

一隻雞和一頭豬一道旅行，走了很久都餓了。眼尖的雞看到了附近有一家餐館，到了門口一看招牌，寫著「今日特價：火腿蛋三明治！」

豬叫了起來：「Hold it!」

雞問：「What’s the matter？」

豬說：「你做了貢獻"contribution"，而我卻得賣命"commitment"。」All they want from you is a contribution. They are asking me for total commitment!

這英式幽默你看出笑點了嗎？雞生蛋，可以不停地生，起碼還活著，這叫"contribution"；豬啊，做成了火腿，徹底犧牲，這叫"commitment"。所以當你的老闆要你commit或給commitment，想清楚一點！假如你只是想要contribution。

1. Performance (n.) 業績、表現

His performance this month has been less than satisfactory.

他這個月的業績不是很令人滿意。

2. performance review 定期員工績效評估

Document research showed that employees with higher performance review have a lower turnover rate. 
研究顯示，績效評估較高的員工離職率較低。

3. Challenge (n.) 除了"挑戰"，也當"譴責、批評、指責"

His poor performance gave rise to the challenge from his boss.

他的表現不佳，遭到了老闆的批評。

4. Quota (n.) 員工的（一年或半年的）業務責任

We are still a little shy of our quota.

我們距離業務目標還差一點點。

5. Follow up 把某件事情繼續負責追究到底
